Cabbage worms : Larva form the cabbage white butterfly. Eggs will be found on the undersides of leaves and are oval-shaped and yellow in color. A great organic control for cabbage worms is bacillus thuringiensis (BT).

Slugs : A great organic control for slugs or snails is Diatomaceous earth.

Cabbage root maggot : Hard to spot because they attack underground.

Aphids: A common pest on collards. Aphids are tiny pests that can be green, yellow, red, black or brown. They attack the plants by piercing the soft tissue and sucking the water and nutrients from them. Aphids cause curling and distortion of leaves and can stunt plant growth.
